Damn! Jasmine Harrison must have some very very happy parents!
The incredibly talented student has been accepted into more than 100 colleges.
And check this – she has been offered $4.5 million in scholarships!
The 17-year-old is set to graduate from her high school in Greensboro, North Carolina, with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Jasmine was soon inundated with offers of admission and merit-based scholarships.
‘When I got the first couple in the mail, I was like, “OK, this is really happening,”‘ Harrison told CBS affiliate WFMY-TV. ‘I didn’t really think I’d be able to do that.’
The humble teen was excepted into no fewer than 113 colleges in the flurry of responses.
The savvy student took advantage of local schemes, with advice from her teachers at The Academy at Smith.
She managed to avoid application fees, allowing her to apply to more than 100 schools for $135.
The programs included the College Foundation of North Carolina College Application Week, and the Common Black College Application.
This allowed her to apply to 53 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in one go.
Jasmine she spent hours pouring over each entry to make sure every application was word perfect.
‘On those late nights when I was filling out those applications with my mom and we just felt like we cannot do this, we just ended up singing gospel songs together to get through the night,’ Harrison said.
After mulling through all her applications, Jasmine has decided to enroll in Bennett College.
It is one of the HBCUs that offered her a full ride, with a major in biology.
Jasmine hopes to become a neonatal intensive care unit nurse.
