They Claimed Her Name Was “Too Ghetto” For Their Company, And Her Rejection Letter – Brutal!
When will these companies learn. These corporations will stand to lose everything that they have when it comes to relating to people of color, or races of people who are different than the CEOs and corporate execs. Remember H&M took a hit and closed many stores when the “Monkey Shirt” was put on cute little black boy. Or the racist handyman who had to close his business down after he was caught on film calling a man a “Ni**a” because of a traffic incident. The list goes on and on. These companies should take a page out of Starbuck’s training book and close down for “Cultural Relations” training.
These events are becoming less and less tolerable. This time is all about a name. Who’s to say what a “traditional name” is. In Africa traditional names include Amare or Kwame. In Iran, Alborz and Anahita are popular. Maybe they don’t fit into what White America class as “traditional” but hey, my mom called me, what she called me!
Just like in the case of 27-year-old Hermeisha Robinson. The Louis, Missouri native was completely floored when she was rejected from getting a job.
