While most people are born with the ability to procreate, not everywhere is cut out to be a parent. One mother has definitely proven that maternal instinct just isn’t a trait she was blessed with. According to The Weekly Observer, a Russian mother – identified as 35-year-old Irina Gladkikh, an estate manager and former beauty pageant contestant – has been arrested for attempting to sell her daughter’s virginity to an older man. It has been reported that a police investigation led to the mother’s arrest after it was determined that she did commit the crime.
The Chilling Confession:
On January 19, Gladkikh, a friend, and her daughter reportedly traveled to Moscow from Chelyabinsk to meet a wealthy man so she could sell her daughter’s virginity. However, she didn’t have a clue that the whole disturbing business transaction was part of a sting operation conducted by undercover investigators. “At 7.35 am, my daughter and I were flying to Moscow,” Gladkikh confessed. “We came to Moscow to meet a wealthy man in order to get paid for sexual services from my daughter.”
When they arrived, they were busted by police. The mother was unaware she was working with police officers until she agreed to complete the transaction. The mother admitted the selling price was $27,000 because the so-called wealthy man was paying for “the right to have the first night’ with the girl,” according to the Daily Mail. The mother was arrested after she’d taken the money to sell her daughter for sexual services.
Gladkikh has been arrested and is set to face charges relative to sex trafficking. Her daughter was taken into custody by police and transported to a Moscow hospital for a medical examination. Gladkikh’s friend also admitted to similar acts, claiming she’d previously profited off selling her body. This case follows reports about a recent case involving an 16-year-old who sold her body for the same purpose. “I decided when I was 16 that my virginity was precious. I wanted a good education so I started looking on the web for ways to finance my studies and I came across a series of auction adverts and found there were girls who had sold themselves for £3.1 million (€3.5 million) so I decided I would do the same when I turned 18,” the 16-year-old told the media.
No further details about Irina Gladkikh have been revealed.
