We Need Answers
Angie Morris, 17, texted her sister Kattlin Humphrey, her new cell phone number sometime Friday. Just a few hours later, Humphrey received a call from her brother that turned her day into a nightmare:
“My brother called me on the phone saying she got shot in the head and I needed to go the hospital with my mom,” As reported on abc7chicago. Reportedly, early Saturday morning around 1 a.m., Angie Morris, was in the 9900 block of Linda Lane. For unknown reasons Morris was fatally shot in the head. She was pronounced dead at Lutheran General Hospital around 4 a.m. according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office .
According to investigators, Morris was shot in the head while in an basement with a friend at the Heritage Village Pointe Apartments in Des Plaines, Illinois:
“We don’t know if it was an accident or on purpose but we need answers,” Humphrey said. “We just want to know the truth.”

Morris’ aunt Sheila Blaje, posted to Facebook that Morris was known for the “love and kindness you shared with others … always making us laugh with your silliness … a smile that could warm our hearts.” Her family held a candle vigil at the Glenview apartment building in honor of Morris and to remember her.
Principal Lauren Fagel, of Glenbrooke South High School, wrote in a letter that was sent out to parents announcing the death of one of their students:
“It is with great sadness that I share this news. Angie Morris, upcoming senior, passed away early Saturday morning. Angie was a sweet, caring, and determined young woman who was looking forward to graduating in January 2018 to pursue a career in early childhood education.”
As posted on Chicagosuntimes. As of Sunday, no one was in custody for the shooting death of Morris.

A friend posted a tribute to Morris and thanked her for her kindness that she shown to her.
In addition a GoFundMe page was set up to help aid the family with funeral expenses. Morris’ sister Katie Mason, stated that she was “accidentally shot in the head, the bullet hit her on the eyebrow and went through her head,” causing her to bleed to death, as posted by the source. The initial day of the pages launch, $7,600 was raised towards the $25,000 goal. As of this post the account was almost at $9,000.
Hopefully, her family will get the answers they deserve.
