Apparently, Pizza Hut’s competitors are giving the food company a run for its money. In an epic ploy to save face, the company is hiring 14,000 new drivers across the country.
According to CBS Detroit, the hiring spree started when the chain begin trying to meet the demand of delivery services using new technology then improve the accuracy and reliability of pizza deliveries.

Supposedly, this could put an end to actually going to the Pizza Hut restaurant. Rather, with smartphones and tablets, customers will be able to utilize the driver-hi tech combo that’s expected to speed up delivery times.
According to CBS, spokesperson Doug Terfehr mentions as follows.
“As on-demand delivery continues to be a priority for our customers, we are more committed than ever to providing the best pizza delivery experience possible.”

According to Pizza Hut guidelines, delivery driver candidates must:
- be 18 years old with a clean driving record
- have a good sense of direction
- maintain a friendly and courteous attitude
- and apply some basic mental math.
Also potential drivers must have a reliable vehicle. And not just that. You have to have car insurance, a valid driver’s license, and be familiar with the area.
CBS Detroit notes that “pay typically ranges from minimum wage to $10 an hour plus tips, depending on location.”
