If you’ve never heard of Thaddeus Matthews, you might remember him after today. After his legendary beef with Bishop Charles Blake and Pastor Frederick Smith, here’s what Matthews is up to recently.
MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE — A few years ago, Thaddeus Matthews — controversial talk show host and pastor of Naked Truth Liberation and Empowerment Ministries — shot flames from his mouth when he’d had enough of Pastor Frederick Smith and his congregation.

According to Matthews, Smith had attempted to bad-mouth him in front of his church congregation, turning everyone against the talk show host.
Thaddeus mentioned as follows.
“Pastor, now it has come to my attention that you have had services every night last week, and you have been exciting and motivating and riling up all of your church sissies to attack me… … …you f**ked up.”
Honestly, this is something you have to see for yourself. Check out the video below.

That’s insane, right??…
Now, of course we tried to find the tape he was talking about — the service he mentioned during his rant. However, after searching high and low, the tape must have transcended like Enoch because it’s nowhere to be found.
Then again, the tape could have “gone away.”
You see, Thaddeus Matthews was caught up in a lawsuit by Pastor Frederick Smith for defamation of character. In this lawsuit, Smith was seeking $4 million in damages, according to WMC News 5 – Memphis.
The news report notes that Frederick Smith says that Matthews made false statements about him, including:
- that he had sex with his adult nephew
- he’s HIV-positive
- he closed his church, New Life Holiness Church
- and has a female concubine in a home in East Memphis.
Yet, it’s not the first time he’s been caught up.

Really, you can’t make this stuff up folks.
However, regardless of all that’s happened, Matthews mentioned that his “crusade” against corrupt preachers will continue.
And though it continues, it seems it’s also gotten him in hot water…
Just this year, in January, Matthews was held at gunpoint in his own driveway. Local Memphis reports as follows.
“He got out of his car to open his garage, then went back to the driver’s seat. That’s when a man runs up. Matthews says the man put the gun in his face and told him to lay on the ground, but Matthews refused.”
This dude is no joke. The source continues as follows.
“A second person came up behind his truck that was already parked in the driveway. Matthews says he and the first man started struggling, and the second guy started firing shots. Matthews says the guy fired four times, then the guys took off.”
So, what is strange about this encounter? Well, according to the report, Matthew says neither of the guys demanded money. Also, they didn’t try to take his vehicle, which was running the whole time. Apparently, they were after Matthews, solely.
It’s interesting this would happen because multiple people have called on his show and mentioned “running up” on him. Yet, Matthews says threats don’t bother him.
Take the following video for example.
Do you think a similar situation happened in January? Maybe someone thought to really run up this time?
Anyway, none of this has stopped Thaddeus Matthews’ pursuit at all. If you take a look at his Facebook page, he’s still telling it like it is.
All in all, what are your thoughts about that as Matthews and his vendetta against corrupt preachers? Feel free to share your comments via our Facebook page.
