Ever since Omarosa Manigault left the Democratic Party to catch a ride on the Trump train to the White House, she has had her Black card revoked and has been called everything except a Child of God. But her unceremonious departure from her post as director of communications for the Office of Public Liason left the door wide open for Omarosa to dish about what she witnessed during her brief tenure. Some expected her to write a book, but instead she has resurfaced on Celebrity Big Brother.
So did she really support Trump and his antics or was Omarosa just the spook who sat by the door? According to video of a conversation that the former reality star villain had with television personality Ross Matthews, Omarosa went to the White House to serve her country. Matthews couldn’t understand any other reason why she would join Trump’s team.
“I felt like it was a call to duty,” Omarosa explained. “I felt like I was serving my country, not serving him. When ever is it I’m accepting a political appointment? It was always about the country.”
Omarosa went on to explain how Trump’s volatile tweets affected her and ultimately her ability to do her job. She said that she never knew what to expect from this president.
“I was haunted by tweets every single day,” Omarosa said tearfully. “Like what is he going to tweet next?”
Matthews asked Omarosa if anyone close to him ever questioned Trump’s motives. He wanted to know, like many outsiders, if there was anybody in the White House who could and would pull him to the side and give him a reality check. She responded saying that when she tried to be that voice of reason, his staffers would attack her and then take steps to limit her access to Trump.
Even though Omarosa is no longer on the inside, she struggles with the idea of saying that what happens in the “house built by slaves” (as Michelle Obama calls it) is no longer her problem. She told Matthews that “it’s bad” and that the American people should not look the other way.
“It’s not going to be okay,” Omarosa said. “It’s not. It’s so bad.”
