A woman and two kids were missing for nearly three days as family and friends worried about their well-being. Unfortunately, their end was tragic.
LEESBURG, VIRGINIA — NBC 4 Washington reports that family had been searching high and low for 27-year-old Courtney Ashe, mother of three — one of which is only 2 months old.

They found her, along with one of her sons, Cameron Martin, 5, and her cousin, Jalen Sills-Russell, 9.
A horrible discovery…
According to NBC 4, Ashe never returned after leaving the house close to midnight.
“Ashe was last seen Friday after she left a relative’s home with the boys, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said. The three left about 11:30 p.m. and were expected to return to her uncle’s home in Leesburg. But they never arrived.”
The source states that Jalen’s stepmom discovered Ashe’s car upside-down in Loudoun County on Monday afternoon. Ashe’s body was found ejected from the car, as confirms the sheriff’s department.

Loudoun Sheriff Mike Chapman said the incident was “just as tragic as it can possibly be.”
According to police, Ashe’s car hit a guardrail on Evergreen Mills Road — a small bridge just over the creek. Sheriff Chapman says it “flipped over and ended up in the water.”
However, if the crash itself didn’t kill them, it’s possible they drowned while upside down.

The sheriff mentions that the investigation is ongoing. Right now, they believe Ashe crashed on Friday night during the storm.
“Torrential rain fell in the area, and streets flooded,” as reports NBC 4.
The mother’s and two children’s bodies were taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner for ID.
Ashe, a resident of Suffolk, was in Loudoun County for a visit when the incident happened.
She was supposed to pick up her son from her mother, Sabrina Jewell. Her cousin, Jalen, was just along for the ride.

Ashe’s mom says it was “out of character” for her daughter to not communicate for so long.
Sorrowfully, the family’s intuition was right about her disappearance.
All in all, our condolences go out to the family as they cope with their loved ones’ losses. This is a pain that’s difficult to imagine.
