MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA — A tourist and his lady-friend allegedly found themselves in an awkwardly violent situation. Reportedly, they were stabbed multiple times by this man.
Since it’s so unlikely to happen, this is one of those situations that’ll catch you slipping — just like this tourist fell victim.
According to ABC-7 Miami, 46-year-old homeless artist Jonathan Crenshaw — who has no arms — managed to stab 22-year-old Chicago tourist Cesar Coronado with a pair a scissors, allegedly more than once.
Reportedly, the incident happened on Tuesday, July 10, after midnight. CBS News states Crenshaw and Coronado gave authorities “conflicting stories” regarding the incident.
According to Coronado’s side of the story, he was simply walking along with a female friend and decided to ask the homeless man for directions. Suddenly, Crenshaw jumped up and attacked him, as mentions Coronado.
However, Crenshaw says Coronado approached and punched him in the head. Jonathan elaborates by stating the stabbing was just retaliation before walking away from the situation.
Well, walking away from the incident definitely didn’t help. After police found Coronado bleeding, he was treated at a local hospital. Authorities caught up with Crenshaw and arrested him on felony battery charges.
He’s now being held on $7,500 bail.
According to Miami New Times, Crenshaw is known in South Beach for his on-the-street paintings, specifically because they’re all done by feet.

The source reports Crenshaw has attracted quite a few tourists and local media for years via his paintings.
Yet, at the same time, CBS News mentions that he’s also had regular run-ins with the law — including four previous battery charges. The source notes as follows.
“Court records show his criminal history dates to 2006 and includes charges for disorderly conduct, resisting officers and trespassing. He has also faced four previous battery charges, including a conviction in 2014 for felony battery of an officer, which led to a sentence of 180 days in jail. Court filings noted that Crenshaw’s fingerprints couldn’t be collected because he has no arms.”
In a 2011 profile in the Miami New Times, Crenshaw refused to discuss the condition that left him without arms.
However, he did make wild claims about his past — one of which he stated fathering more than 200 children and the first one at only 8 years old.
During another claim, he says he’s originally from Alabama, but he and his mother moved around a lot, ending up in San Diego at one point.
“I didn’t care too much for that. Plus she kept feeding me rat poison. For the insurance policy, I guess.”
“Sometimes I wish I were dead,” he told the New Times. “I’m not trying to kill myself or anything. But then I wouldn’t have to suffer.”
