INDIANTOWN, FLORIDA — An entire rack of ribs? A funnier thing about this situation is that he was able to fit more in his pants than the slab of meat.
According to TC Palm, 26-year-old Maeli Aguilar-Alvarez was arrested after an officer witnessed him removing a full rack of ribs from his waistband, as mentions an affidavit.
The source says, on December 15, 2017, the man who pulled meat from his pants was identified by Martin County Sheriff’s deputies.
TC Palm states that a sheriff’s sergeant reported spotting Aguilar-Alvarez exit Rines Market IGA around 6:15 p.m. When he noticed the man pulling the delicacy from his trousers, he moved in for the encounter.
However, upon further search, it turns out that Alvarez also had the following in his pants as well:
- two packs of hamburger buns
- nine pieces of fried chicken
- and some mashed potatoes.
Aguilar-Alvarez apparently was trying to get his holiday meal prep in order. There’s no report regarding the type of pants he was wearing. However, they surely couldn’t have been skinny jeans.
Likewise, it’s not known whether he also stole condiments to go with all his discounted foods. I mean, a full rack of ribs would definitely need some barbecue sauce to help get the flavor just right.
It seems too that he forgot the soda. Yet, according to officers, he had plenty of alcohol already in his system. The source says investigators reported Aguilar-Alvarez “smelled of booze and was intoxicated.”
Alvarez was arrested for retail theft, which cost $32.49 altogether.
Hope it was worth it.
