Indiana Little Caesars Closes After Customer Finds Mouse Feces Baked Into Pizza

Posted On : 02/15/2018

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA — This has to be one of the most vile and disgusting food stories of 2018. After reading this, bet you’ll always check your pizzas from now on.

According to Fox News, a Little Caesars was recently shut down by health inspectors on Tuesday morning, February 6. The source reports that a couple found rodent feces baked into their pizza’s crust.

Johnathan McNeil states that he and his girlfriend purchased a pizza from the restaurant. However, on the drive home, his girlfriend noticed the pizza had a lot of something extra. According to the source, Johnathan mentions as follows.

“She looked at the pizza and realized there was like doo-doo looking stuff on the pizza.”

Immediately, they turned around. They needed an explanation and confronted the employees about it. The source says workers claimed they didn’t know about the mystery ingredient.

“All of them were looking at my pizza dumbfounded as if they didn’t know what’s going on. I said ‘That’s mouse doo-doo on the bottom of my pizza.’” — Johnathan McNeil

So, while they were all lost for better reasoning, Johnathan contacted Indianapolis Metropolitan Police, as well as the Marion County Health Department.

And sure enough, a health inspector arrived to conduct an emergency inspection. Upon findings, the restaurant was closed.

Janelle Kaufman, Marion County Health Department spokesperson, mentions: “We did find that there were rodent droppings and violations that warranted us doing a license suspension.

And after further investigation, it turns out that this particular Little Caesars had been dealing with a mouse issue since August 2017 — according to the source.

Reportedly, the restaurant already had been cited four times for mice-related problems, yet it was never closed. Fox News states that the restaurant had received seven violations in 2017 alone.

Nevertheless, regardless of its history, this Little Caesars re-opened the following day after a follow-up inspection. Corporate headquarters offered this statement.

“Little Caesars takes great measures to ensure its products are high quality. We were notified of the situation at one of our independently owned and operated franchise locations. The store was immediately closed, thoroughly cleaned and the franchisee requested a health department reinspection. The store has reopened with approval from the health department.”

Yet, that does nothing for the restaurant’s track record of health-conscious negligence. The restaurant’s history speaks louder about its public health concerns.

All in all, Johnathan McNeil wants everyone to simply be on the lookout for stuff like this. He says to check your food and be extremely cautious regarding whatever you’re eating.
