Instagram Model Dies After Insisting Cancer Was ‘Only A Phase’

Posted On : 05/28/2018

SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL — Although this popular IG model kept the faith that she’d get better, she unfortunately succumbed to her illness in the fight against cancer.

Popular Brazilian model Elyanara “Nara” Almeida documented her cancer fight on social media for all her fans to see. It was intended to be a visual testimony once she would beat the disease.

However, according to New York Post, the 24-year-old has died of stomach cancer.

🙏🌟#cancer #positivevibes #oracao #forcaNara

Translated to English from the aforementioned Instagram post, Almeida mentions as follows.

“Today begins a new phase in my fight against cancer. Finally I’ll take the first dose of immunotherapy!! After many tests and a lot of preparation my doctors found a medicine that will do me really well and I have the chance to save my life. As many already know the remedy costs very expensive and after mt insistence unfortunately we did not get a response from the government and I can not wait, so I went to the fight.”

“We are working hard to get enough money to pay for the exams and the dose of the medicine,” Almeida mentions. “But God as always puts angels in my life and this time…he was willing to pay 6 months of treatment (Oh Glory) and the clinician who made the donation of 3 doses of the medicine, God knows the emotion that was when I had the confirmation that they would really help save my life, ONLY GRATITUDE!!”

The source notes that, regularly, Nara Almeida would update her 4.6 million followers regarding her treatment. She was diagnosed with the disease in 2017.

THE ANNOUNCEMENT

According to the Post, Almeida passed away at Hospital Nove de Julho in São Paulo.

Her boyfriend of two years, Pedro Rocha, is who posted the news to her Instagram.

“Unfortunately, Nara passed away last night, after so much fighting I wanted to have her forever, but she deserved to rest,” Rocha noted. “Her death leaves a huge void in my heart, but it will live forever within me, it will always be my inspiration, making me see the world in a better way. I’m sure she will continue transmitting her strength to many people, because that was her goal. Rest in peace my love.”

According to the source, Almeida remained positive throughout the situation, despite being told that the cancer had spread to her other organs.

After receiving the devastating news, the Post says she wrote as follows.

“The doctors gave me the confirmation that my case was aggravated, there is no possibility of a cure. But once again I repeat to you, ‘IT’S ONLY A PHASE,’ I’m sure this will not be my end.”

The source also reports that, in March, she wrote: “Only I and God know what I’ve already been through, how many traumas, how many sleepless nights crying in pain, only he and I know! I want it to end soon God, you understand my heart, help me give me the strength and strength to continue I beg you.”

“May no fear be greater than my FAITH in LIFE and GOD,” Almeida said in her very last post.
