All their parents want are their baby girls home safe.
But sadly, a desperate search is underway for two young sisters, Kandyce and Karmen Matos, who have gone missing from their Maryland home.
The Matos sisters disappeared on Saturday and have not been heard from since. Detectives from the Montgomery Police Department’s Special Victims Investigations Division are currently on the case.
Authorities believe that Kandyce, 11, and Karmen, 16, are together.
They Often Frequent A Local Mall
Kandyce and Karmen Matos were last seen by their parents in bed at 11pm on August 4. The two girls reside at Hunters Gate Court in Silver Spring, MD.
But when their parents entered their daughters bedroom to check on them at 11am the next morning, they had both vanished. Cops have told the community in Maryland to be extra vigilant, especially in and around the Westfield Wheaton Mall area.
The shopping mall located at 11160 Veirs Mill Road in the Bel Pre area in Montgomery County is said to be a frequent hang out spot for the sisters.
They Deleted Their Social Media Accounts
What is more concerning about the disappearance is that the sisters took no personal belongings with them.
‘They left with nothing,’ Ramon Matos, the girls’ father, told NBC Washington, ‘They’ve got nothing with them. They got no money, no clothes, nothing.’ Their frantic parents say their kids left even left without their prescription eyeglasses.
It is not known if she was forced to or deleted it herself, but Ramon’s older daughter, Karmen, deleted her Instagram account before she vanished.
11-year-old Kandyce Matos is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, and weighing 137lbs. 16-year-old Karmen Matos is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, and weighing 160lbs. Both girls have black hair and brown eyes.
