ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA — It’s no doubt that Flavor Flav is a musical genius. But, during a live demonstration, the historical artist had to let’m know…the skill is real.
Every year, musicians from around the world flock to Anaheim in order to attend the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) event.
Well, Flavor Flav was one of the musicians in attendance and was captured giving a piano demonstration to surrounding, bystanding listeners.
According to his Instagram post, Becki Barabas happened to be the lucky person getting to hear his musicianship in person.
“Thanks for capturing this and sending it to me,, Fun day at #NAMM just messing around on the keys,, Becki, thanks for having me!” Flavor Flav mentions in the post’s caption.
Bruh, y’all better not sleep on Flav!
GRAMMY HALL OF FAME
Too, in case you weren’t aware, Flavor Flav will also be inducted into the aforementioned hall of fame for his contribution in Public Enemy’s 1989 single, “Fight the Power.”
According to Source, the song will be recognized on January 28 during the ceremony.
Given the nature of the song, such revolutionary musical expression couldn’t be acknowledged at a better time — as the power structure is so corrupt.
Source reports on the song as follows.
“‘Fight the Power’ is regarded as one of the most influential songs in the history of the hip-hop music genre due to its complex musical structure, revolutionary lyrics, and effective global reception.”
Reportedly, the song used samples from civil rights activist Thomas “TNT” Todd, and similarly unified along with pro-Black songs like James Brown‘s “Say It Loud-I’m Black and I’m Proud” and Bobby Byrd‘s “I Know You Got Soul.”
If you’ve never heard the song before in its entirety, it’s located below.
All in all, congratulations to Flavor Flav on his historic accomplishment. Also, it’s a pleasure listening to his piano skills. Dude is gifted, right?
