SPARTANSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA — If this isn’t the very demonstration of white privilege, we don’t know anymore. This sex offender was just elected to oversee an occupation which interacts with children.

TALK ABOUT A BIASED, CRUEL IRONY

According to CBS Pittsburgh, the mayor of this Pennsylvania town is standing by its volunteer fire department’s chief election of 43-year-old ex-convict and registered sex offender Roger Gilbert, Jr.

And what’s even more crazy? This is Gilbert’s RE-election, according to the source.

That’s right. CBS reports that this is actually his second term.

Mayor Ann Louise Wagner — looking at the name, we already know what’s up — says she’s aware he’s a sex offender, yet she still stands by the fire department’s decision.

“I support the fire department and their decision to have him as chief. The firemen have always elected their own officers and that’s how it’s always been done. We don’t question their decisions.” — Mayor Ann Louise Wagner

INTERESTING

………….”we don’t question their decisions”…

According to CBS‘ report, Gilbert was convicted of SEXUAL INTERCOURSE with a 4-year-old girl.

The source says he was convicted in 2001. Today, court records show Gilbert is a felon, and he completed a 5- to 10-year sentence for “involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.”

Note: “Involuntary”… …also “4 YEARS OLD.”

CBS Pittsburgh mentions that the victim’s mother told local newspaper The Journal she doesn’t believe he should be in a job where he interacts with children.

But Gilbert says, “That was 20 years ago.” The ex-convict mentions as follows.

“You know, the story you are telling kids is once you make mistake, you will be punished for the rest of your life. I’ve changed my life for the better. Every day I get up and try to do good.”

EVEN MORE INTERESTING

According to state police, it’s up to each “individual community” to decide whether to allow sex offenders to serve in an office at the local level, after having completed sentencing terms.

Well, that’s certainly something. Yet, we’re told white privilege doesn’t exist. Not only do they get shorter sentencing, but they apparently get a clean slate too.

Simply fascinating.
