‘Latinx’ Group, California College Hosts ‘NO WHITES ALLOWED’ Swimming Party — So Whites Threaten Violence

CLAREMONT, CALIFORNIA — POCs among the Claremont colleges wanted to host a ‘No Whites Allowed’ party, for safety reasons. Ironically, whites complained and threatened violence until they changed rules allowing them inside.

'Latinx' Group At California College Hosts 'No Whites Allowed' Swimming Party — So Whites Threaten Violence

NOTE: How is it okay for whites to threaten violence and non-peaceful protests when they want to get stuff done? Yet, when people of color do the same, we’re seen as “thugs,” “terrorists,” or worse? Can anyone honestly rationalize this?

THE ANNOUNCEMENT

According to Claremont Independent, a group of students decided to throw a pool party at Scripps College and limited attendance to “5c” students. The source says this meant “only students who attend Claremont colleges” — including Pomona College, Claremont-McKenna College, Pitzer College, and Harvey Mudd College.

However, another stipulation on the party was that only people of color could attend. The group described the event as “a safe space for…students that identify as POC to come together and build community.”

The source reports that it was supposed to be hosted at the Sallie Tiernan Field House pool, organized by Scripps’ Latino/Latina group “Cafe con Leche.” The event was set to take place between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Yet, that all came to a grinding halt once the ousted community got involved. In the initial report, Claremont Independent cited that the school’s event breached Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 — which states: “Schools and colleges that receive federal funds must operate without discriminating when it comes to race, color, and national origin.”

NOTE: Amazing how Caucasian Americans understand civil rights law and violation — to near-perfection — when it’s not pertaining to those of people of color, huh?

The source also initially reported that the event went against Scripps’ anti-discriminatory policy.

WHITE TEARS

So, once Claremont Independent’s report reached the community at-large, the school began to receive major backlash from those formally excluded from the event.

One anonymous student told the source:

“I am white-passing with a diverse friend group, most of whom were invited to this party except for me. Talking to my friends, I felt as though the hosts of the event had gone through people’s social media profiles to determine their skin color and then explicitly allowed or denied people admission to the event on the sole basis of their skin color.”

Another student commented with the source also based on an anonymous status. However, that student was all for the event — and mentioned as follows.

“First of all, this is a POC party. No one is saying, ‘it needs to be all Latinx or all black students etc.’ The point of this event is to promote inclusivity and congeniality between ethnic minorities.”

“Most POCs at any of the Claremont Colleges (which are historically PWIs (Predominantly White Institutions)) interact and enjoy interacting with people of all races (obviously including white people), but sometimes it’s nice to have a time to be with people who identify in the same or similar way that you do,” the student continues. “And that’s also why no one is forced to come — if a POC identifies more with their white peers, they’re not forced to go to this party or any [racial affinity group] meetings.”

“The fact that they’re holding this party after hours also shows that they’re consciously not taking away the right of their white peers to go to the pool on a hot day.”

WHITE VIOLENCE

Well, it appears that the event and group started receiving violent threats. With this in mind, they decided to change the date.

“The pool party has been postponed due to concerns about student safety in the wake of numerous phone calls and emails from the public expressing hostility and threatening physical violence,” Scripps College President Lara Tiedens mentioned in a campus-wide email to students.

THIS is exactly why they didn’t feel safe in the first place.

Unfortunately with exclusional violent threats in mind, they opened it up to everyone — white students included.

Again though, why is it socially okay for whites to threaten violence toward people of color whenever things don’t go their way? The Black Loop previously reported on Judy Tucker who recently — along with her family — physically assaulted a Black, pregnant military woman over a parking space.

Yet, POCs are the thugs?? How does that work?
