CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA — After current owner Jerry Richardson announced his plans to sell the Carolina Panthers, Diddy jumped in the lineup of buyers. Here’s what Cam Newton says about it all.
According to Complex, the NFL is currently investigating Richardson after he was accused of sexual misconduct. So, as a method of separation, he’s opting to introduce another owner.

During the team’s Wednesday press conference, Newton made the following statements after being asked his thoughts on the Diddy possibility.
“I was just like everybody else. It was amusing. Obviously he’s a person that has a lot of influence in the culture and it was just cool. I didn’t know what to expect and I still don’t know what to expect. I feel like a lot of people, you don’t know whether they are serious or are they not serious. How is it going to play out? I don’t even know how you’re going to sell something of this magnitude. So I’m just going to stay in my lane and worry about throwing touchdowns on Sunday, and let the rest handle itself.”
Overall, Newton said he’d be totally cool with Diddy signing Kaepernick to the team.
“Whatever happens, happens,” Newton said.
“They say two things happen in competition, you either get better or get worse. I’m all for it.”
He says he’s always looked up to Diddy as a person, and for him to possibly be Newton’s next boss, “It’s pretty cool in itself,” Cam states.
Regardless of what you might think about Cam Newton, dude showed class in his response — even with the possibility of his position being on the line.
