Former New England Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo and his family are saddened as their beloved bulldog Knox was found dead at the home of the person the Mayo family trusted.

Retired Patriots Linebacker Jerod Mayo’s Missing Bulldog Found Dead Inside Of A Trash Bag:

On June 28th, former New England Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo took to his Instagram page to spread awareness about his family’s beloved pet bulldog, Knox. According to the Daily Mail, Knox was in the care of Off-Leash K9 Training but when Jerod Mayo went to go pick him up, they claimed that he was lost. Knox was a huge part of the Mayo family and they were devastated when he couldn’t be found. Jerod and his wife begged for help from the community as they believed that they trusted a reputable company who had no idea what happened to Knox.

Off-Leash K9 trainer Amelia Ferreira was the last person who saw Knox. When the family tried to pick up Knox, they were reportedly given several excuses by Ferreira and the Off-Leash K9 Training facility.

Here Are The Instagram Post That The Mayo Family Wrote:

It hurts to write this because it only makes it more real… We trusted a ”reputable” company called @offleashk9training // @offleashk9trainingprovidence to train our English bulldog Knox and after stalling his return yesterday we finally forced a return date. When calling to check on the ETA his trainer CLAIMED she blinked and he disappeared? although he was wearing a whole e-collar! As you guys know from many videos (and watching Knox grow with our family) Knox can barely run and he def can’t hide due to his very loud breathing and short stubby limbs. Our family is BEYOND devastated and our kids have been stressed as we wait for our Knox to return. Knox has a VERY DISTINCTIVE LOOK he is a black, brown and white English bulldog. He is a very rare breed called a Tricolor. He has one white paw and a red spot on his face. If a dog that looks like Knox is spotted anywhere in Rhode Island, or Boston its highly likely that it’s Knox. He has a chip that can be scanned at any shelter or pound. We ask for prayers and reposts on all social media outlets esp if you live in the places mentioned or surrounding cities. Esp CRANSTON Rhode Island. #patsnation we’d love your help and tips There will be a Cash Reward$$$ We are taking EVERY LEGAL ACTION POSSIBLE & IMPOSSIBLE when it comes to Knox TRUST! But right now we are more concerned with getting him back home with his family. Tips and leads call 774-300-9868 Please repost

The Daily Mail reports that the Mayo family was so determined to find Knox that enlisted private investigators and even scuba divers to find out what happened to Knox. Soon, they would learn the sad truth about their best friend.

The Mayo’s Family Dog Knox Was Found Dead In His Trainer’s Home:

When dog trainer Amelia Ferreira was questioned about the whereabouts of the Mayo’s family dog, Knox, her story changed several times. Initially, Ferreira allegedly told police that Knox ran off during a walk. Then, Ferreira went on to change her story, later claiming that that the dog had been in a crate inside her apartment, but had gone missing. Tragically, Knox was later found dead in a trash bag inside of Ferreira’s home.

The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals found the Knox and they believe that he died in the custody of Ferreira, who was arraigned Monday. The trainer is being charged by Cranston, Rhode Island police with one count of obstruction and could face charges of animal cruelty.

Jerod Mayo spoke out at his family is heartbroken over the death of Knox.

Unfortunately, the answers we prayed for regarding Knox aren’t ones we were ready to face. Knowing what we know now about @offleashk9trainingprov @offleashk9training we mentally explored every outcome possible and the reality is we were right. Knox has passed and his BODY WAS FOUND IN THE HOME OF THE OFFLEASH TRAINER. IT’s disgusting and inhumane that a company full of “dog lovers” would hide a family pet IN A CLOSET FOR TWO MONTHS and compulsively lie and send us on a wild goose hunt and our kids on an emotional rollercoaster. Staging him running away, him being stolen, even him drowning having us knocking on doors sending us false leads as we searched two states. We’ve hired scuba teams, private investigators, lawyers and more when they knew they HAD HIM IN THEIR HOME IN A TRASH BAG tucked away the whole two months. Yeah A TRASH BAG! We raised Knox like our child as you guys can see from our photos and those of you who know us. It hurts to have to accept that our beloved Knox was thought of as trash as they saw our family hurting. Currently all that these people are facing is obstruction. Not animal cruelty??‍♀️ or filing false police reports or for plain ole tossing someone’s family member in a trash bag and storing it! From the Mayo family, we want to thank all of the people who spent countless hours looking for Knox. To our social media family, thank you for posting every day. We still have work to do…..we need to bring awareness to this problem so it never happens again. This is just getting started #repost #justice4knox #knoxmayo #offleashk9training #olk9training #olk9ri #offleashk9 #ripknox #knoxslaw
