No more “hidden figures.” Tiera Guinn, 22, has quite the job with NASA. According to sources, she’s mission critical and so is her place in history.

Wow. This is truly “Black Girl Magic,” for real. While Hidden Figures has shown the influence of Black women within the United States’ aerospace and astrospaace frontiers, it seems it’s nowhere near over.
In a new chapter of NASA innovation, Guinn is a key figure in a grand project to build the most powerful rocket ever.
Tiera’s Always Been a Shining Star
According to Huffington Post, Tiera Guinn is a rocket structural design and analysis engineer. The source says she’s working hand-in-hand with Boeing on the project.
Soon, she’ll be graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a 5.0 GPA. Amazing, right?

Yet, regardless, she already has a job with NASA as you can see.
The source mentions that Tiera has been working numbers since she was a 6-year-old. Her mother used to have her calculate exact grocery totals inside the store, including taxes — all before they’d reach the cash register.
Then, one day as a plane passed overhead, a spark struck within Tiera. And, she then knew she could design planes.
The Power of 31 “747’s”
To go into the details, CNBC reports that the project Guinn is working on will have the ability to exert 8.5 million pounds of thrust!
Why so much thrust?
Well, the goal is “Mars.”

According to the source, by 2018, the project will launch its first unmanned test flight. However, by 2021, they’re hoping to launch with astronauts — taking them to the Orion space capsule, which are being built by Lockheed-Martin.

A Message for Young Girls Everywhere
In retrospect, ever since Tiera’s realization, she planned her academic path accordingly and has followed her dreams into fruition.
“You have to look forward to your dream and you can’t let anybody get in the way of it. No matter how tough it may be, no matter how many tears you might cry, you have to keep pushing. And you have to understand that nothing comes easy. Keeping your eyes on the prize, you can succeed.”
Although it’s been a long road, she’s endured the test of preparation and patience.
Now, she’s aboard one of the biggest scientific endeavors in this nation’s history. Yet, Tiera Guinn will not be a “hidden figure.”
