Atlanta Actress Meets Tragic End With Her Three Kids

BEAUMONT, TEXAS — In early morning hours, tragedy struck an Atlanta family on their drive into Texas, causing an 8-car pile up on the I-10 freeway.

You may think it could never happen to you or yours, although accidental death is reported every day. Surely, likewise, this family didn’t know what was headed its way on Thursday, September 20, as they enjoyed the drive into Texas — traveling from Georgia.

According to WSB-2 Atlanta, 36-year-old Chelsea Standberry and her three children — 10-year-old Anthony Standberry Jr., 8-year-old Anaiyah Standberry and 6-year-old Chase Standberry — were killed in a collision with a commercial truck.

But it wasn’t the hit that killed them.

Unfortunately, authorities haven’t pinpointed what caused the devastating crash. However, as you can see from photos, the family’s truck is completely charred.

Reportedly, Standberry’s husband — Anthony — stepdaughter, and her mother-in-law, were also involved in the accident. Yet, they only suffered minor bodily injuries since they made it out of the vehicle before it caught fire.

Can you imagine the hurt and pain this family is feeling? Standberry’s husband helplessly watched his wife and kids meet their ends…right in front of his eyes. That’s an image forever etched into his mind.

NOTE: The source states that the semi-driver walked away from the incident with no injuries.

The surviving family members aren’t the only ones writhing in emotional pain. Other family members and friends have taken to social media to express their thoughts about the tremendous loss as well.

According the the report, Nils Roed notes that his sons went to school with Standberry’s children at Mountain View Elementary. At the time when the source interviewed Roed, he was on his way to pick up the kids — preparing to deliver the painful news about their friends.

“Understanding someone who’s older passing away is a little bit more understandable, but someone your own age that was your friend is heartbreaking. I’m not sure how he’s going to handle it.”

Likewise, one of Standberry’s neighbors — Bob Tavares — says the entire neighborhood is hurt by the tragedy.

“They’re a perfect couple for our community,” Tavares told WSB-2. “They’re always so nice and sweet. Whenever we’re walking the dog or something, they’d be there very friendly.”

Standberry’s cousin — Shaundrea Woodard — has set up a GoFundMe account to cover funeral expenses for all four victims. The fundraiser has a goal of $50,000. At the time of this publication, the cause has raised nearly $22,000 in their honor.

“Chelsey’s husband and [stepdaughter], as well as her Mother-in-Law, are still in the hospital and are expected to recover,” Woodard explains. “I am asking that you guys donate anything!! No amount is too small. Thank you, and keep our family in your prayers.”

According to Internet Movie Database (IMDb), Chelsea Standberry went by “ChelseyRai S. Standberry.” The source notes an extensive career in her biography, as follows.

“Born in Houston and raised in Atlanta, ChelseyRai is an actress and entertainment host. ChelseyRai has worked on several film projects, as well as multiple web series. She began her entertainment career in media as the first host and co-producer of Witness The Realist (WTR TV) based out of Cleveland, OH, promoting underground music and talent on four television stations throughout Ohio for over 5 years. She later founded Word of Mouth TV, which aired on local metro Atlanta television. She has had extensive training over the years with renowned actors dedicated to their craft. In addition to her work as an actress, ChelseyRai also gives back through her founded philanthropies for underprivileged youth.”

It’s certainly an unthinkable end to this mother and her children. Too, as surely you could fathom, widower Anthony Standberry will need to be surrounded with love during his time of grief.
